GURU IS GOD.

This Poornima is very auspicious. Today is Guru Poornima. On this day great saints were bestowed upon with wisdom.
Who is Guru?  The human beings seek Divine grace and pray to be bestowed. But why is Guru in between?   With out guru, is it not possible to get the grace of God?
Well Guru is the one who shows us the path to reach God. By showing this path, the Guru rescues the human beings who are in the darkness called ignorance and shows the light of wisdom.
Why Guru is to be celebrated and why is Guru worshiped?  Well let us say a person has money.  He is very wealthy.  But to reach a place that he does not know he has to ask for the route.  For instance to go to Ganges river bed one has to ask for the route from the person who had been there.  Therefore we all need some one to show the route to reach a destination.  Now one should be able to understand that it is Guru who can take us to the spiritual destination and take us is the path of Divine.

Experience

In our life we keep facing number of problems. In the middle of such a troubled situations how to live in peace and remain in harmony and stay out of problems?  It is Guru who can provide the direction for this.
Either during this birth or in the earlier births by performing austerities and penance the Gurus had discovered how to remain in peace and stay calm in this world and how to reach God.  They would have also experienced the state of Divine.  Only such Gurus can show us the path to reach the God.

Characteristics

Well now who is bigger?  Is it Guru or God?
After seeing the good characteristics only, we will accept a guru. Guru will have certain specific qualities. Firstly wisdom Guru has the wisdom and directs the human being in the correct path, second is love and the third is kindness.  Guru is only accepted with these characteristics.
Guru is not simply accepted by the appearance.  We only accept a Guru who can give us peace, wisdom, happiness and harmony.  He is the one whom you will be able celebrate and the one who will have characteristics which will give you happiness.

Divine Characteristics

Where do you think these characteristics are coming to a Guru?  The qualities and characteristics such as kindness, love, wisdom, and generosity are derived from Amma (Sri Narayani).  All these characteristics that we praise are that of the God, These are of Amma.
Guru is not different from God. Guru is the figurative form of God.  Guru is the strength of God.

Pardon

Devotion to a spiritual Guru is the highest form of devotion.
One can seek pardon from Guru after committing a mistake to God.  But you can’t commit mistakes with guru and go to God.
God very kindly descends to this earth as Guru in the form of a human for the sake of human beings, as they cannot feel God in the original form.  To such a kind spiritual form called the Guru, to whom when one commits mistakes, there is no pardon. There is no power above Guru.

The Kind of Devotion

One approaches Guru or God only when he faces difficulties. Guru’s abode is not the place to be approached only while facing difficulties. It is a supreme power on whose contact one should always remain. There are two types of devotees. One type of devotees are those who are devoted only for good things to happen for him. The other types are those who are devoted for obtaining the grace and love of the Devine. The first category of devotees will not fetch happiness that is permanent.
In human life one has to face sadness as well as happiness. Those who are devoted to Guru for happiness, remain devoted only when the happiness is there.  There after they will start feeling sad. In this form of devotion there will be no peace.
Devotion is surrender.  Devotion to a Guru is handing over his own self and surrender in totality.
What is life? What is misery and how to get over this?  How to remain with out committing sin?  Guru is the one who slows the way for the above.  Guru’s abode is not a place for atonement.
When one does any thing with out acquiring wisdom he will face difficulties.  To get the full grace of Guru you should surrender with total devotion.
Surrender to Guru not for getting relief from the difficulties being faced in day to day life, but for getting the direction for the entire life. Guru is the one to give you the Devine grace in the complete form.

To Get the Ultimate

Once you find a Guru do not search for God. Guru is God.
When you have a Guru you have every thing.
The one who has reached Guru is deemed to posses every thing.
Guru is the power and is also another form of God.

The Transformation of God into a Guru

We enjoy the lighting effect of the bulbs glowing inside the houses.  The current for these bulbs come from a transformer.  We are able to enjoy the effect of these bulbs/lights where less current with low voltage is flowing.  However we cannot enjoy the transformer where heavy current with high voltage is flowing as it is dangerous to go close to it.
Therefore we the human being can only see the power to the extent of bulb and not to the extent of transformer.
Similarly God is a supreme power. Since the human beings cannot approach God while in the form of such supreme power, the God transforms into the form of Guru and descends to this earth in such an approachable form.

Is Devotee For Guru or Guru For Devotee

You should not think that Guru should be likable to you. You should be likeable to Guru. Every body desires that Guru should be like what he wants and so should be the God.
Just because one does not know what is to be done, how it is to be done,  which should be done and which should not be done etc., we face difficulties and miseries. If one carries on like this problems will continue.  When you are with Guru you will learn the above, how to live, how to handle difficulties etc.  By this you will attain peace in life.
The one who shows a path to attain peace is Guru. Therefore every one should accept a Guru whom they like and surrender in totality instead of approaching to seek temporary solutions and find a path way of light to lead a harmonious life. Sakthi Amma blesses all the living beings in the universe to live happily and harmoniously.
